Visiting the Farm

Fintan  & Brian's Farm Tour

During a visit to Rathbaun Farm there are many opportunities for everyone to experience farm life. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions and participate along the way. Fintan and Brian will talk about the animals and give an insight into the daily chores of a sheep farmer.

Sheep Shearing

Sheep are sheared coming into the summer months. Fintan will give a skilled demonstration of this task. Years of hard work make it look all too easy.

Rounding up the Sheep

Fintan and Brian is joined by Bailey, Rathbaun’s very own Border Collie, a valuable member of staff who will help them round up the sheep from various corners of the field.

Feeding The Lambs

Plenty of oohs! and aahs! as tiny lambs toddle out to be hand-fed with bottles of milk. This is a necessary part of farm life but a truly remarkable, fun experience for visitors of all ages.

Meet our Connemara Pony

Our Connemara pony Roisin Dubh has a very gentle temperament. Brian will be on hand to give more insight into our beautiful pony and her best friend Dolly the donkey.

Tour groups are served either, morning coffee, or afternoon tea along with our delicious home made scones, preserves and freshly whipped cream.
